We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Horizon Europe project: TexMat.
TexMat is an ambitious initiative designed to transform how post-consumption textiles are collected, reused, and recycled across Europe. By piloting an innovative deposit system for used textiles, the project will reward consumers for returning reusable and recyclable items, helping make sustainable choices easier and more accessible.
At the heart of TexMat is a smart, data-driven approach to textile collection. Automated collection units powered by digital product passports will support more efficient sorting, tracking, and material recovery, while also helping to advance Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) systems across the textile sector.
Bringing together partners from across the textile value chain in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Italy, Spain, and Netherlands, TexMat aims to make textile circularity simpler, more effective, and commercially viable. The project will unlock new circular business opportunities while strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of Europe’s textile industry.
We’re proud to be part of this forward-looking collaboration that supports the transition to a circular textile economy. By reducing waste, improving resource efficiency, and contributing to the EU’s greenhouse gas reduction goals, TexMat represents an important step toward a more sustainable and independent European future.
Stay tuned as we share updates and milestones from the project journey.
